Paul Owen Associates have worked with Curzon Cinemas on a string of new cinema openings. We have provided the structural designs for a number of high quality cinema fit-outs, including new auditoria seating, mezzanines and feature stairs.
In addition, we have re-purposed existing buildings as cinema shells. These are complex projects from a structural perspective, often requiring the strengthening of floors for auditoria loading and the complete removal of floors to create double-height auditoria space such as at Curzon Colchester. Curzon Sheffield in inside a former bank, parts of which dated to the Eighteenth Century and which were Grade II listed.
