After the floods in the centre of Leeds in 2016, Paul Owen Associates were commissioned to review and provide flood risk measures to this existing site . It was determined that the existing site would be protected to a 1 in 200 year event based on detailed discussions with the client and the Environment Agency.
This challenging project required the installation of over 300m of permanent concrete walls and temporary protection systems which could be easily deployed on site if required. In addition, the project required the installation of protection measures to both the existing foul and surface water drainage system.
