Designed by ADP Architects, this building is a significant phase of the expansion of the University of Surrey.
The construction of a three story building, curved on plan, together with a cantilevered fourth floor “roof pod”. The building comprises offices, laboratory areas, meeting/conference spaces, core and circulation creating over 3,500 square metres of floor area. External works included a new service road , hard and soft landscaping and below ground drainage.
After considering a number of options a structural steel frame was adopted to achieve the building’s complex geometry and large cantilevering floors.
